About us
A bit of history...

Our Agency’s beginning dates back to 1989. Making good use of a breakthrough moment in our country’s history, Jerzy Marzec – the owner of the company, being in possession of an old fogey model of a typewriter and having a lot of ideas and great determination for hard work, founded our Translation Agency.

The name of our agency is a husband’s tribute to his wife – the second pillar of our company – Danuta Marzec. In 1995 she resigned from a managerial position at a state-owned industrial company and set out to support her husband’s efforts by joining the DAMAR team.

Every-day intensive work does not leave time for a chronological archive of the agency’s history, but we can certainly say that since its establishment:

• we have changed the seat of the agency – expanding and improving the workspace and customer service

• we co-operate with hundreds of people – interpreters and lectors, ranging from students to professors. For many of them our agency is not only a work place but also a place for social meetings and professional counseling.

• over the years of the agency’s existence we have accompanied many of our co-workers during important moments of their lives: master’s and doctoral defenses, marriages, child births, state exams, internships abroad.

Our job...

Thanks to the diligence, perseverance and creativity of our co-workers we have been constantly expanding our offer and confirming our place on the market for 18 years now. Quality, promptness, an inviolable confidentiality policy and the ability of adjusting to the needs of our clients – these are the sources of our success.

Written translations and interpretation services in European languages constitute the majority of our work; we also deal with translations in other, non-European languages. We translate mainly technical, scientific and engineering texts which include specialist terminology. Another extensive part are legal and economic texts: agreements, contracts, norms, as well as texts connected with quality certification procedures, EU regulations, implementation of computer systems (SAP, Sox).

Thanks to up-to-date equipment our clients do not have to worry about complicated text editing, preparation of graphics, designs (also in AutoCAD format).

With the use of modern software which supports the interpreter’s work (CAT tools), we are able to translate unusual file formats such as HTML, SGML, XML, ASP, JSP, as well as DTP program formats such as FrameMaker, Interleaf, Pagemaker, QuarkXpress and Ventura.

Another important area of our work is providing services of consecutive and simultaneous interpretation during gatherings, meetings, conferences, audits, inspections, production lines’ start-ups, equipment repairs, general overhauls, huge industrial investments, foreign business trips, trainings, etc.

Our offer regarding certified translation is a complement of a language service aimed at companies and individual clients who know that with us they can find acceptable prices, kind and professional service as well as consultative services.

The language courses we arrange are structured mainly with the intention of serving the needs of our regular customers. They include mainly advanced courses for individuals and small groups, and they concentrate on a specific language field (business or technical language).

Our accomplishments...

Our biggest accomplishment is the satisfaction of our clients as well as the development and satisfaction of our employees. We are also happy with the award that was granted to us in 2006 – the bronze statuette in the Wielka Mała Firma competition (Great Small Company). We have been acknowledged for our business diligence and honesty, as well as for professional care of our clients.

The year 2006 brought about our membership in the only association in Poland which groups translation agencies – The Polish Association of Translation Agencies. The association is part of the European Union of Associations of Translation Companies and the worldwide LISA organization (The Localization Industry Standards Association).
